Fastop Food Stores started its roots in the 1980s and is a division of The Gott Company, Inc., a locally owned company based in Southern Maryland since 1945. Fastop offers the convenience that you deserve and prides itself on serving the freshest of products, in a fast and friendly manner. History: Fastop Through the Years

1987

Fastop is Born

Our story begins in Leonardtown, Maryland. As a distributor for a local gas station, John Gott Jr. saw an opportunity when the owner mentioned he was interested in selling. That station became our very first Fastop and the birthplace of our famous fried chicken and wedges.

1991

Chesapeake Beach Location Opens

Fastop expands with a second store, bringing our growing brand closer to the waterfront community.

1996

Lusby Location Joins the Family

Our third location opens in Lusby, continuing our commitment to convenience and great service.

2000

St. Leonard Store Launches

As we entered the new millennium, Fastop continued to grow with the opening of our St. Leonard store.

2004

Solomons Store Opens

Another former gas station we once supplied fuel to is transformed into a Fastop – this time in Solomons. Around this time, we also introduced beer caves into select stores.

2010

North Beach Store is Acquired

We added our sixth store by purchasing the North Beach location, expanding our presence along the Chesapeake Bay.

North Beach Gets a Makeover

The North Beach store received a full remodel with updated design and new amenities to better serve our customers.

Frazil Slushies Make Their Debut

We introduced Frazil frozen drinks across our stores—a fun, icy treat for all ages.

Fastop Café Launches + New Leadership

A big year for Fastop! We rebranded our coffee program as Fastop Café, featuring new bean-to-cup machines, plus freshly brewed tea and lemonade. And for the first time in our history, a family member stepped into the role of Operations Manager—congrats to Breanna Gott on continuing the Fastop legacy.
